Ottawa police officer charged with impaired driving

A constable on the Ottawa Police Service is facing charges after an off-duty incident took place in late June.
According to a release from the force, Cst. Mathieu Boucher, age 41, is facing an offence of operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol over 80mg. He was arrested in connection to an incident that happened on June 27.
He remains on “active duty,” it reads, but has been reassigned to administrative duties and is not in the force on a frontline capacity.
“The OPS holds all officers to a high standard of conduct, both on and off duty, and expects their actions to reflect the trust and values of the community we serve,” police note.
