Holly Acres Rd to close for repairs following July 1 storm

Holly Acres Rd on the west side of Ottawa is now set to close for a week to facilitate culvert repairs after suffering significant damage in the extreme Canada Day weather event of July 1.
One lane of the road has been closed for a period of time since the major storm front, limiting vehicle traffic off of Highway 416 and Highway 417 as a result.
The repair work will be to fix the culverts beneath the road, or the underground pathways that help channel water flow underneath the roadway.
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) says full repairs will take place beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4. The work will then continue until the project’s provided deadline on 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10.
As a result of the closure, the following delays and closures will also be in place around Holly Acres Rd:
– The northbound off-ramp of Highway 416 to Holly Acres Rd will be closed.
– Drivers exiting eastbound on Highway 417 at Holly Acres Rd will only be able to turn left at the intersection towards Carling Ave.
– Holly Acres Rd itself will be closed to northbound traffic between Richmond Rd and the Highway 416/417 eastbound off-ramp.
– Holly Acres Rd will be closed to southbound traffic between Carling Ave and Richmond Rd.

The MTO says detours will be in place, so drivers in the area should closely observe posted signage. They also say in the release that sidewalks alongside Holly Acres Rd will be closed between Aero Dr and Richmond Rd.
A number of OC Transpo stops and routes will be closed as a result of the closure.
The bus stops affected will be the 4036, 0764, and 2869.
The bus routes which will detour past the construction area will be the 11, 57, 60, 61, 62 63, 66, 67, 81, 88, 158, 301 and 303.
