Two people dead after fatal crash on Hwy. 401 around Ganonoque, Ont.

Shortly after midnight on August 3, emergency services responded to a collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 where they found two people dead.

According to a release, emergency services arrived to the scene of the crash and found that a transport truck was disabled on the westbound right shoulder after being struck by a westbound passenger vehicle.

Two passengers of the vehicle, a 47-year-old and a 73-year-old, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital for assessment.

The fatal crash is currently being investigated by members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The crash occurred around Ganonoque, Ont.

No injuries were reported by the driver of the transport truck.
