Bike, specially made for man with Cerebral Palsy, taken from driveway

Police released these photos in connection with a bike theft incident. (OPS)

EDITOR’S NOTE: Police previously, incorrectly, said the bike was made for a man with Parkinson’s.

Ottawa police are asking people to reach out after a custom-built bike was taken from an Alta Vista driveway early last month.

Officials said that the bike was made for an older man with Cerebral Palsy. It was taken between July 12 and 14 from his home.

Photos released by police show a man on the bike leaving the residence. He has long brown curly hair, tanned skin, wearing a red t-shirt and black pants with patches, motorcycle-style boots and was carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information about the person to call 613-236-1222 ext. 4713.
