Police search Calabogie Lake in connection with murder investigation

Over five days, divers and officers were on a lake in the Ottawa Valley searching for evidence in connection with a murder that happened three years ago.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) finished the search of Calabogie Lake on Aug. 8 after it started early last week. Officials said in a release that the operation was in connection with the homicide case of Johnathan Logan who was killed in Renfrew, Ont. in 2023.
“The OPP thank the public for their patience during this phase of the active and ongoing investigation,” officials said, not mentioning if anything was found.
This comes just after police created a video and launched a billboard asking for people to come forward with information into what happened on May 19 three years ago.
Logan, who was 41 at the time, was fatally shot inside a home on Vimy Boulevard in Renfrew.
When police arrived, they found him with life-threatening gunshot wounds, and he was rushed to hospital. Officers said that the person responsible left the area before they arrived, along with several other people who might have witnessed the incident.
The suspect has not been identified. Police said after gathering initial information they believe Logan was targeted. Officials are still pleading for people to come forward.
Logan was an only child to his mother Catherine.
Police have already announced a $50,000 reward for help leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Logan’s death. A video calling on people to come forward was also launched in May, which featured his mother pleading for answers.
