Stunt driver asks friend to pick-up passengers, who shows up inebriated

In a two day blitz Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped dozens of people and laid many charges including one for someone who showed up late to the scene.
In a press release, officers said they were doing traffic enforcement on all provincially-controlled roads within the City of Ottawa. They were using a plane to help track the speeds of drivers.
Of the 50 charges laid, they laid offences against eight people for stunt driving, meaning they were speeding at least 50 km/h over the limit.
One of the drivers stopped was going 162 km/h, which automatically means he had his vehicle impounded for 14 days. The man driving was carrying passengers and asked police if he could call a friend to pick them up.
When the friend arrived, police saw signs of impairment and asked him to take a roadside alcohol test, where he blew a “warn.” His blood alcohol concentration was 0.08 or more.
This meant his licence was suspended for a week and he was fined $250.
Anyone charged with stunt driving faces a $2,000 fine, six demerit points and a one-year driving prohibition.
“Slow down. Drive safe,” police said in the release.
