Police find pills scattered through two Orléans parks, some in acorns

The Ottawa Police Service are investigating an incident where pills were found scattered around two parks in the east end.
Two parks, in Orléans; Blue Willow Park on Longleaf Drive and Silverbirch Park on Silverbirch Street, had a heavy police presence while officers discovered what appeared to be drugs in the areas.
Police say they received a report from a concerned resident that pills had been spread across the park around 11 a.m. The resident also told police that they believe the pills were spread around in a suspicious way.
After arriving at the scene, police were able to find loose pills around bushes, trees, throughout the grass, and even hidden inside of acorns. In total, police say they have now located more than 100 pills across the two parks.
Officials say that pills with a range of different colours and sizes were found. They are warning all parents, caregivers and pet owners that visit the parks to be very cautious.
Officials are asking anyone that finds pills or other unknown substances to leave them in place and contact police immediately.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officers continue to conduct searches in the area. Police say that the pills are currently undergoing analysis to find out what they are made up of.
