Over 200 prescription pills found throughout Orléans parks, police say

An extensive grid search by emergency officials has led to the total number of pills found scattered throughout multiple Orléans parks to more than 200.
According to Ottawa police, in the latest update on the case, they have determined the pills are over-the-counter and prescription medications, not illicit drugs.
Three parks have had pills found in them, including Blue Willow Park, Silverbirch Park and Ruisseau Park, all within a few blocks of each other in the Chapel Hill South neighbourhood.
Last weekend, a concerned resident called police after they found what they believed were drugs “scattered” around a park. The resident also told officers that they believe the pills were spread around in a suspicious way.
After arriving at the scene, police were able to find pills around bushes, trees, throughout the grass, and even hidden inside of acorns. There were a range of colours and sizes.
Since the discovery, officials have searched the areas to ensure all the pills have been found. There have been no reported illnesses involving people or animals, the newest release details.
However, police are asking people to be cautious when using the parks since even prescription pills can cause harm if consumed or accidentally ingested.
Anyone who finds pills is told not to touch them and call police.
