Children’s soccer coach charged with multiple sexual offences

Ottawa Police have charged a children’s soccer coach with sexual assault and other related offences that date back over ten years ago.
Raul San Martin Salas, 62, is now charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16 years, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation of a young person, telecommunication with a person under 18 years for specific criminal offences, telecommunication with a person under 16 years for specific criminal offences, make available sexually explicit material to a person under 18 years for specific criminal offences and make available sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years for specific criminal offences.
Police say some of these offences date back to 2015.The Ottawa Police Service’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit are investigating and believe there may be more victims and incidents related to this investigation around Ottawa.
San Martin coached children’s soccer in the city of Ottawa for several years with a “variety of sanctioned and unsanctioned soccer clubs,” reads a release.
The Ottawa Police has released a photo of the accused to help potential victims identify him should they not know his name.
