Adopt Me: Handsome Tux

A home without other cats might be best for him

CityNewsOttawa, in partnership with the Ottawa Humane Society, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Tux (ID# A234343), is a two-year-old cat on the hunt for his purrfect forever home.

Tux is a shy cat who will thrive in calm, stable environment. Once Tux gets comfortable, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without him!

While he was at the shelter, he had an infection with Calicivirus, which caused serious “cold-like” symptoms. He is fine now, but he could have flare ups in the future that would require veterinary care, and he might be contagious to other cats at times.

For more information about Tux, please visit

With the Shirley Kearns Memorial Adoption Centre currently closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, adoptions are currently done on an appointment basis. If you are interested in adopting me, please call the OHS to book an appointment at 613-725-3166 ext. 258.

Items you must have with you: proof of address, photo ID, animal carrier.

Unable to adopt? Share this feature on social media so each animal can get the exposure it needs and find a loving home.
