Hour 1:

Monday. The 'Rolling Thunder' convoy came and went this weekend with relatively few incidents.

13:25 – “It was a little bit more like a regular protest…still a little bit unruly and a little bit unorganized but a little bit more like what we're accustomed to down here.”

Rob checks in with Sparks Street BIA executive director Kevin McHale about how the weekend's demonstration impacted businesses in the core.

20:46 – “We need more leadership at City Hall, but right now councillors are simply too divided. I know I can bring them together, I've done it before.”

Today is the first day that candidates can formally file their paperwork to become candidates in the October municipal election. Rob speaks with candidate for mayor and former mayor of Ottawa Bob Chiarelli.

35:51 – “I thought they were restrained, I thought they handled a lot of verbal abuse. From what I saw in Facebook videos, they were cool.”

Crisis communications expert Barry McLoughlin joins Rob with his assessment of the Ottawa Police response to the 'Rolling Thunder' event this past weekend.

international affairs columnist Geoffrey Johnston joins Rob with his latest reporting on the war in Ukraine.

20:46 – “It's not an easy job. You get hundreds of the best and brightest in Ottawa, having to whittle it down to 40, it's not easy.”

Dave Sali joins Rob from the newsroom of the Ottawa Business Journal with our first look at this year's Top 40 Under 40.

33:34 – “There's a strategy that's emerging from more and more financial plans and the background to it of course is Canada's great wealth transfer. We've talked before about at least a trillion dollars under way, and probably more over the next two years.”
