Hour 1:

Tuesday. The Trudeau government has tabled a sweeping new gun control bill. Will it make any difference to gun crime in Canada?

12:25 - "We've basically taken all the help we can get. From a public works perspective, we have about 600 to 700 staff that have been re-deployed to focus on the restoration and cleanup efforts."

Rob is joined by the head of Public Works for the City of Ottawa to get an update on the effort to clean up after last week's devastating storm.

23:23 - "The second barrier is ideology...the national government has essentially demonized any form of fossil fuel. They're talking about getting rid of it instead of saying 'What can we do to mitigate it?'"

Professor Ian Lee joins Rob for their weekly chat this week discussing energy security, among other topics.

Hour 3:

0:00 - "I repeat the line again, 'buy, sell, transfer hand guns anywhere in Canada'. It's not criminals who are doing it, it's legal gun owners. Of course they're targeting them."

Columnist Michael Taube joins Rob with his initial thoughts on Justin Trudeau's latest gun control gambit.

22:47 - "It'll be a wait and see, but the problem here for the Bank and it's getting more and more pressing is is this going to get set into expectations? The longer we have inflation running at six and close to seven per cent the more people are going to start to believe this isn't going away."

Conference Board of Canada chief economist Pedro Antunes joins Rob to preview tomorrow's Bank of Canada's interest rate announcement.

33:20 - "I see the new legislation as just a first step towards curbing firearm-related violence. It's definitely an improvement over the failed idea in the previous proposed legislation."
