Moderna COVID-19 vaccine approved for youth, ages 12 to 17

Health Canada has approved the use of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in youth aged 12 to 17.
The health agency made the announcement on social media Friday morning.
Health Canada says the approval follows a thorough and independent scientific review of the evidence.
Until now, Moderna was only authorized for use in those 18 and older.
Health Canada says it will continue to closely monitor the safety of this vaccine, and will take action if any safety concerns are identified.
