River Ward City Councillor Riley Brockington is raising awareness about potential scammers calling residents and gaining access to personal information by pretending to set up a COVID-19 vaccination appointment for their victim.

The councillor explains in a tweet on Thursday, April 8, that Ottawa Public Health is not calling residents about vaccinations, unless a resident asks to be called back.

Brockington is urging residents to protect their privacy.
