Les’s board experience and service in the non profit and small business sectors has prepared him for the challenges of political life. He looks forward to helping to make Ontario a better place by working to improve the environment, the political process, economic and social justice and opportunities for the younger generation.
While earning his B.A. from Carleton University, Les co-founded a local newspaper and became active in the Mayor’s Committee on Youth. This would ultimately lead to the chairmanship of the board of the Roberts-Smart Centre, an organization which serves young people facing the most serious of mental health challenges.
Les is a self-employed group benefits broker/consultant who has worked out of home in Ottawa South since 1985. Recognition of his business acumen resulted in his selection to the board of Impatica, a local high tech firm, where he served for 12 years.
Les is married to Maggie who has lived most of her life in Ottawa South. He has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
