By Alex Black

A week-long distracted driving campaign in the Upper Ottawa Valley saw 50 drivers charged.

Provincial police held the blitz last week, focused on motorists who were using a cell phone while behind the wheel.

A total of 48 people were charged with using a hand-held device while driving, while two others were charged with careless driving.

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP also want to remind motorists that a seatbelt campaign will be held over the Easter long weekend from March 30 until April 3.
