Algonquin College Ranks third in Canada for research partnerships in 2022

Algonquin College appears third on a list of Canada's top 50 research colleges for 2022. 

The list was released by Research Infosource Incorporated on Thursday, Jan. 25. 

According to the list, Algonquin College ranks third in the category of research partnerships with 168, and second in completed research projects with 155. 

“We are thrilled to see Algonquin College recognized as a leader in research partnerships amongst colleges in Canada,” said Claude Brulé, Algonquin College's president and chief executive officer (CEO). “Our commitment to applied research and innovation, as well as working closely with industry partners and community organizations, has resulted in this outstanding achievement.”

In addition to the research partnership results, Algonquin College ranked second in Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) research income with $662,000 and ninth in Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) research income with $2,528,000.

Kristine Dawson, Associate Vice President, Experiential Learning and Innovation at Algonquin College, noted,

“Our ranking as second in SSHRC funding is not only an achievement for the college, but also for the communities we serve,” said Kristine Dawson, associate vice-president, experiential learning and nnovation at Algonquin College. “Our research has a direct impact on addressing the needs and challenges of society and aligns with our core values of caring, learning, integrity and respect.”
