Ontario's public service employees union is holding a rally in support of public autism services in Ottawa's Little Italy neighbourhood, Thursday.
OPSEU Local 454 has organized Thursday's midday rally, outside the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services offices on Preston Street.
The union says it believes that children with autism have a right to access high-quality public autism services now, and not later.
While the Ford government recently back-tracked on its changes to the Ontario Autism Program, OPSEU is not satisfied with the level of detail released about the new plan.
The new autism plan won't be in place until April 2020, at the earliest.
The rally is scheduled between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Thursday.
