By OttawaMatters Staff

Officers with Sûreté du Québec patrolling Autoroute 5 early Thursday morning nabbed a speeder going more than double the posted limit.

Around 1 a.m., patrol officers stopped a car clocked at 150 km/hr, where the posted speed limit is 70 km/hr.

A Gatineau man, 28, faces related charges, fines of over $1,500, along with 18 demerit points and a licence suspension of 90 days.

The man is scheduled for a September court appearance, where he could face additional charges of impaired driving.
