Body recovered from Mooney's Bay during search for missing swimmer

Ottawa Fire Services' Water Rescue crew searched the area Saturday at about 9:30 p.m.

An extensive search for a missing swimmer in the Mooney’s Bay area by Ottawa Fire Services resulted in the recovery of a body.

According to water rescue crews, they received a call to the area of Riverside Drive and Hog’s Back Road at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, regarding a missing swimmer.

Crews were launched and initiated a search of the surrounding area for the swimmer.

During their searching of the waterway and shoreline areas, a body was found.

It is not clear if the body is that of the missing swimmer.

No other information was immediately available.
