Bridge installation to close section of Highway 417 on Saturday

You can expect a major highway closure this weekend that will impact your drive.
Highway 417 is being shut down both ways from Carling to Bronson avenues October 19 and 20 for bridge installation.
That section of the highway will be closed from 6 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday morning.

Crews will be on scene putting in the main section of the new Harmer Avenue pedestrian bridge.
There will be a signed detour in place:
Eastbound Traffic
- Motorists will exit Highway 417 at Carling Avenue continue on Carling Avenue eastbound, head north on Bronson Avenue then eastbound on Chamberlain Avenue/Isabella Street, and will re-enter Highway 417 eastbound at Metcalfe.
Westbound Traffic
- Motorists will exit Highway 417 at Bronson Avenue, continue on Raymond Street westbound, head south on Booth Street, west on Carling Avenue and re-enter Highway 417 westbound at Carling Avenue.
There will be a no stopping and tow away zone along the full detour described above.
While the bridge is being installed this weekend, it isn't expected to open to the public until mid-2020.
