The Biggs and Barr Show is launching an initiative in support of displaced Ukrainians settling in Canada's capital.

The morning show crew from CHEZ 106.1, in partnership with the Ottawa Police Association, is launching the Biggs and Barr Brew for Ukraine, a limited edition euro lager courtesy of their friends at the Kichesippi Beer Company on Friday, June 17 at 6 a.m.

One dollar from each can of beer sold will be donated to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) of Ottawa.

“This is just another phenomenal example of the outpouring of support we have received from the people of Ottawa,” said Cassian Soltykevich, the national secretary for the UCC on The Sam Laprade Show on Wednesday, June 15. “We are very thankful.”

Paul Meek, the co-founder of Kichesippi Beer Company told The Sam Laprade Show on Wednesday, June 15, the goal is to sell 12,000 cans of beer and raise $12,000.

“This is a wonderful project,” said Meek. “We encourage people to try this new beer and help people who are going to become citizens of Ottawa very soon.”
