CHEZ’s summer of good deeds continues with new roof for local paramedic

By CityNews Ottawa

CHEZ 106.1 is taking a big item off the summer to-do list for a paramedic living in Dunrobin, as part of its 13 Deeds initiative.

Beth is a mother of four, and was nominated for Deed #9 by her friend, and CHEZ listener, Heather.

Heather wrote to CHEZ:

“Beth is a single mother of 4 and an amazing paramedic. She’s the most positive person I know. The kind of person who makes you feel like a million dollars whenever you walk in the room.

Beth is having a very rough time personally, emotionally and financially. Her home is literally falling apart. Her roof is tarped because it’s so damaged and she cannot afford to fix it.

Beth never complains and never asks for help. So I am doing it for her. Will you help my amazing friend Beth and her 4 beautiful children get a new roof?”

So, she got one.

The Biggs and Barr Show was broadcasting from Beth’s home on Friday, July 23, while Markelangelo’s Roofing gave Beth a new roof.

CHEZ 106.1's other eight deeds have included a variety of things; from buying someone groceries, to lunch for essential workers, a new car for someone in need, and raising $10,000 for the Ottawa Humane Society.

Nominations for 13 Deeds are still open here.

Rogers Sports & Media is the parent company of CHEZ 106.1 and CityNews Ottawa & the Valley.
