Classes are set to end early for students who attend schools under the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
According to an announcement by the board, formal instruction will end on June 21. Schools will also arrange times throughout June 22, 23 and 24 for students to retrieve personal items from their school and/or return books, Chromebooks and other supplies to their school.
The reason for ending classes early, the board says, is to allow staff an opportunity to say a farewell to students and provide them with an opportunity to congratulate them for their work this year.
During this time, staff will be at the school and will follow all Ottawa Public Health guidelines to allow students to be in the school at scheduled times for year-end retrieval and return of items.
Parents and guardians, however, will not be allowed to enter the schools but will be asked to wait outside for their kids.
