Daily Tokyo Olympics 2020 Recap: Canada secures silver in women’s 200 m backstroke

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 have officially kicked off and Canada has sent 371 athletes to compete in a wide variety of sports over the next two weeks.

Olympics Day 8 – Saturday, July 31

Kylie Masse won her second silver medal of the Tokyo Olympics, finishing second in the women’s 200-metre backstroke. Edmonton’s Marco Arop led from start to finish to win his heat in the 800 metres and move onto the semifinals while Andre De Grasse posted the fastest qualifying time in the men’s 100-metre sprint.

    • Women’s Middleweight: Tammara Thibeault – lost quarterfinal by unanimous decision (5-0), did not advance
