Double digit highs, sunshine high in the sky signal spring’s arrival in Canada’s capital

By Dani-Elle Dubé

It’s safe to say that spring is officially in Ottawa.

Environment Canada is predicting forecasts in the double digit highs, sun and — yes — even that rain this time of year is most known for.

Kicking off the first official day of spring, it’ll be a 11 C high and sunny on Saturday, but come nighttime temperatures will drop to -7 C with clear skies.

Sunday, the double digit highs continue with 15 C and more sun. The low at night will be -3 C, again, with clear skies.

The warm streak will continue into Monday with more sunny skies and another high of 15 C. The night will be clear and come with a low of 0.

Tuesday, we’ll start to see the clouds moving with a mix of sun and a high of 15 C. With the night, however, comes a 60 per cent chance of showers and a low of 3 C.

The 60 per cent chance of rain will continue into Wednesday with a high of 10 C during the day, and into the night with a low of 5 C.

And it’s more rain Thursday but a comfortable high of 11 C.
