Drug busts in Vanier, south Ottawa

One man has been charged in a big drug bust, after Ottawa police officers raided two homes.
The tactical unit searched the two locations, yesterday; one home on Landry Street in Vanier and another on Riverside Drive. Police say the raids were carried out after complaints about drug trafficking at both locations.
Officers seized a large quantity of cash and cocaine, as well as a loaded semi-automatic handgun with ammunition.
One person — Ismail Mohamed, 30, has been charged with:
- two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Schedule I substance
- Possession of Proceeds of crime over $5000.00
- Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
- Store Firearm Carelessly
- Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
- Possess Prohibited Firearm knowing not holding a Licence
- Unlicensed Person Possess Prohibited Weapon
- Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime exceeding $5000
Mohamed is scheduled to appear in court today.
