Elderly man struck by vehicle on Walkley Road

A man struck by a vehicle on Walkley Road has been seriously hurt, but is expected to survive.

The elderly man was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of Walkley Road, near Conroy, just before 6:30 a.m., Tuesday.

Ottawa Paramedics tell 1310 NEWS that the man was taken to hospital with a head injury. He was in serious condition but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Several lanes of Walkley Road were closed at the scene of the accident while police investigated.
