Erin Davis opening up about loss of daughter in book and at Ottawa Writers Festival

By Mike Vlasveld

Long-time media figure and former host of 98.1 CHFI's morning show Erin Davis is set to speak at the Ottawa International Writers Festival, discussing her new book, which details her family's journey through the sudden and tragic loss of her daughter.

Lauren Davis, 24, had been on maternity leave while working as a journalist and broadcaster in Ottawa when she passed away in 2015.

Davis' book, Mourning Has Broken, is described as the story of one family's determination to regain their optimism and hope for the future.

In the book, Davis speaks with others who have made similar journeys through loss, discovering that, while their loss will never be diminished, she and her husband Rob can find solace in the world around them and a way to cherish the memories of their daughter.

Davis will be speaking at the writers festival on Thursday, February 28, at the Southminster United Church on Aylmer Avenue, at 7:30 p.m.
