Family of four left homeless by fire in South Keys

By Alex Black

A family of four escaped a house fire uninjured late Tuesday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., fire crews responded to multiple 911 calls reporting smoke coming from a home at 1321 Fonteney Crescent, in South Keys.

Flames could be seen at the back of the home when crews arrived, and the fire extended into the attic as crews battled the blaze.

An adjoining residence also sustained exposure damage before the fire was brought under control around midnight.

Two adults and two children, ages three and four, had safely made it out of the home by the time crews arrived.

The family has been left homeless by the fire, which caused $150,000 damage to the home. Damages to the adjoining home are pegged at $35,000.

There were no injuries.
