Fire crews battle barn and hay fire

Ottawa Fire crews were called to battle a blaze in the west end of the city on Monday.
Crews received a 911 call just before 5:30 p.m. from the homeowner at 8528 Copeland Road reporting a large pile of hay and a barn on fire.
When they arrived, crews confirmed the hay fire but determined the barn was not compromised and the livestock inside was safe.
The fire was under control just before 6:00 p.m. and crew extinguished hot spots until just after 6:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
