Fire crews battle electrical blaze in Nepean

Ottawa Fire Services are investigating what caused the blaze.

Ottawa Fire Services dispatched fire crews after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls for black smoke near Woodroffe Ave., and Rideaucrest Dr. Saturday evening.

Upon arriving to 53A Newborough Cres. at 7:02 p.m., firefighters declared a working fire.

Officials say the fire seemed to be at the electrical panel at the front of the home.

The fire was deemed under control within ten minutes of arrival.

Nobody was inside the building at the time of the blaze. No injuries reported.

Victim services was not needed.

Damages are estimated at $200,000

A fire investigator is on scene to determine what caused the blaze.
