By Victoria Williston

Firefighters battled a massive blaze on Easter Sunday in Greenboro.

Just after 5 p.m. crews received multiple 911 calls about a garage fire at 72 Silverlace Private, near Hunt Club Road and Lorry Greenberg Drive.

Shortly after, another 911 call reported flames visible from the row house that was attached to the garage.

The three other homes attached to the affected house sustained smoke damage but the initial house and garage were destroyed.

The estimated amount of damage to the home is not yet known.

One person was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

The Canadian Red Cross is assisting those affected by the fire.

A fire investigator has been called in to determine the cause.
