One person was sent to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in Masson-Angers on Wednesday.
Around 3:30 p.m., fire crews responded to a fire at a single-family residence at 92 A Georges Street. When crews arrived on the scene, two people who had been inside the home had escaped safely.
Smoke could be seen coming from the home and crews began an offensive attack on the ground floor.
The fire was under control by 4:10 p.m.
There is no word on what caused the fire or a damage estimate. The Red Cross has responded to help five people.
Gatineau police are investigating a series of suspicious fires in the Hull area, but this fire is not believed to be connected and the investigation has not been transferred to police.
