Ottawa firefighters battled a fire in a shed in Ottawa's Bay ward on Jan. 25.

No one was injured after Ottawa firefighters responded to a shed on fire on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Ottawa Fire Services received a 9-1-1 call shortly after 5:30 yesterday reporting a large shed on fire, which was located at the back of a single family home in the 1000 block of Alpine Avenue, which is off of Clarenda Avenue and Severn Avenue in Ottawa's Bay ward.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it could spread to any of the nearby structures, while discovering flames under the floor and on the bottom of the walls of the shed.

Crews confirmed that the hydro was shut down to the shed, and firefighters began cutting holes in the floor to access and extinguish the flames.

The fire was declared under control at 6:03 p.m.
