Four more staff at city-run long-term care homes reported positive for COVID-19

By Dani-Elle Dubé

Two employees who work at Carleton Lodge long-term care home, and two other employees at Garry J. Armstrong are the latest to test positive for COVID-19.

The news was confirmed in a memo sent to city councillors from Donna Gray, general manager of community and social services, on Friday, December 31.

According to Gray, the staff are working with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to ensure that appropriate testing is completed and necessary precautions are put in place.

As a result, two units at the Garry J. Armstrong home have been placed on outbreak status.

Communications have been provided to all staff, residents and family members.

As it stands as of Friday, there are three Carleton Lodge staff who are positive for the virus, as well as four at Garry J. Armstrong.
