Funeral service held for MP Gord Brown

Veteran Conservative MP Gord Brown to be laid to rest on Thursday, May 10.

The 57-year-old Brown was a veteran MP representing the eastern Ontario riding of Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. He was first elected in 2004, and won re-election three more times, including most recently in 2015.
     
He has been described by members from all parties as a fun, accessible and well-liked member of Parliament with a great sense of humour.

Brown was found unresponsive in his office on May 2 and could not be resuscitated.

He leaves behind a wife and two sons. 

The funeral service will be held at the Lou Jeffries Recreation Center in Gananoque at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Gananoque Cemetery.
