Gas prices hit another record-high with 5-cent jump at midnight

By CityNews Staff

For the first time ever drivers are paying more than $2 for a litre of gas across the province including in the nation's capital.

The price at the pumps reached new heights Saturday morning, up to $2.029 per litre following a five cent increase at midnight.

There appears to be little relief in the short term with the price anticipated to spike another 6 cents on Sunday for most of the province, including Ottawa, which could be around $2.149 a litre, according to the president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, Dan McTeague.
