One man is dead after a fire at an apartment building in the Lac-Beauchamp District of Gatineau.
The Gatineau Police Service (SPVG) and the Gatineau Fire Safety Service (SSIG) responded to the fire on rue Saint-André around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26.
When crews arrived on scene, they found three people had made it out of the building safely while a fourth person was missing.
The fourth person, a man in his 40's, was removed from the building by firefighters and taken into the care of the Outaouais Paramedics Cooperative (CPO), before being pronounced dead at the scene.
One resident and a firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
