Gatineau’s transit system to increase bus service

By Saif Kaisar

“That 3.8 million dollar investment represents 19,000 more hours of services to the commuters on the transit system,” said Myriam Nadeau, President of the STO, and Councillor for District de Pointe-Gatineau. She stated that the changes will affect 31 routes.

The STO will change several of their routes to better accommodate commuters.

Nadeau told 1310NEWS that $2 million will go toward increasing bus services in Gatineau's West-end.

“By significantly improving the service to citizens and neighbourhoods of Aylmer and Plateau, we respond to a crying need of our customers, and priorities identified by our Board of Directors and the City of Gatineau,” said the Executive Director of STO, Line Thiffeault, stating that the changes are a reflection of the needs of the transit system's riders.
