Gunfire damages vehicle in west-Ottawa residential neighbourhood

By Jason White

Gunshots fired in a residential intersection, near Greenbank Road and the Queensway, damaged one vehicle and have police searching for the shooter.

The shots were fired around 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, at Iris Street and Southwood Drive, behind the IKEA store.

Ottawa police tell CityNews that officers found shell casings on the ground at the scene, but that no one was injured.

One person later called police to report their vehicle had been shot at.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit has taken over the investigation, which continues.

No arrests have been made, so far.
