A Kingston woman is facing charges in connection to a violent assault on her husband and an attack on a woman believed to be his lover.

According to police, a 45-year-woman became enraged when she learned her husband had been unfaithful.

Police said the woman found her spouse at the home of a mutual friend on Monday, and struck him several times with a guitar. Then, when other people inside the home tried to remove her, she picked up a pot of boiling water and threw it at her husband.

The victim suffered scratches and burns, but police say the incident wasn't reported at that point.

Police said the accused tracked down the alleged other woman around 5:30 p.m. the same day, at a west end hotel on Princess Street, and entered her room with a loaded .22 caliber rifle.

Police said she was forced out of the room by another man in the hotel room, and at that point, police were called. The accused was located by police, sitting in her vehicle in the hotel parking lot with the gun.

The woman faces charges including assault, assault with a weapon, mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and possession of a firearm without a license.

If you have any information, you're asked to call police at 613-549-4660 ext. 6322.
