By Mike Vlasveld

A local corporation is looking to take advantage of a storage industry boom in Canada.

Dymon Storage Corporation has announced that it will be opening more than 4-million sq ft of space between now and 2021.

It's building 18 new facilities, five of which will be in Ottawa; Lincoln Fields at 145,000 sq ft; Train Yards at 180,000 sq ft; Barrhaven at 140,000 sq ft; Clyde at Baseline at 145,000 sq ft; and Kanata at 160,000 sq ft.

In addition to those projects, it said it will be completing due diligence on properties including Innes Road, Lebreton Flats, and Woodroffe/Baseline in Ottawa, as well as others in Toronto.

Dymon now controls 80% of the storage industry in Ottawa.
