Lord Elgin reopening in October following 18-month closure

By Dani-Elle Dubé

After being closed for about 18 months, the Lord Elgin Hotel announced it will be reopening for service.

The hotel confirmed via Instagram Friday, September 24, that it will be opening to the public again on October 1.

“We’re SO excited to announce we are finally reopening our beautiful hotel on October 1st! Super busy behind the scenes getting it ready. Can’t wait to welcome you back!” the hotel wrote.

The hotel closed its doors to the public on March 23, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and said at the time on its website that it would remain closed until further notice.

However, its patio at Grill 41 stayed open and the hotel said at the time of the closure announcement that its on-site Starbucks would stay open as well.
