Man cut out of vehicle in early-morning 417 crash

By Jason White

The 417 has re-opened after a serious two-vehicle crash in Kanata.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m., Monday, on Highway 417 near the Castlefrank exit.

Firefighters had to free one person, a man in his 50's, who was trapped in one of the vehicles that had flipped onto its side and was leaning up against the highway's centre divider.

The vehicle's roof was removed to free the man trapped inside.

The man had a head injury, but was alert and conscious when paramedics took him to hospital in stable condition.
