Ottawa emergency crews responded to a construction site in Ottawa's Mechanicsville neighbourhood where a worker was injured after a steel rebar fell on his head just before 3 p.m. on August 4.
Ottawa Paramedics Services tells CityNews Ottawa that the worker was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident on Burnside Avenue near Parkdale Avenue. The construction worker was roughly 40 feet - or five storeys- below the ground.
Firefighters hoisted the worker up to the surface, and the man was taken to hospital with injuries that are deemed non life threatening. He is in serious but stable condition.
