The man accused of sexually assaulting a 36-year-old woman in a south end apartment has turned himself in to police.

The Ottawa Police Service said that back on March 4, a man initiated a conversation with the victim at the main entrance of her apartment building in the city's south end. He then followed her to her apartment door, and after being told that he was not allowed inside her home, he stopped the door from closing and forced his way inside. That is when police said he sexually assaulted the victim.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation or who knows the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service's Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
