Mayor Watson, Dr. Etches meeting with Premier Ford in Ottawa to talk COVID-19

The three are expected to discuss a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the province, which has forced the government to limit the size of gatherings in some areas, including the nation's capital.

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Vera Etches are meeting face-to-face with Ontario Premier Doug Ford. 

The three are expected to meeting at the Chateau Laurier at 10 a.m., Friday, to discuss a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the province, which has forced the government to limit the size of gatherings in some areas, including Ottawa. 

Ottawa, Toronto and Peel Region are considered the hot spots in the province for new cases of COVID-19. 

On Thursday, Ottawa recorded 39 new cases of the virus, with Toronto recording 85 and Peel Region recording 63.
