By Anil Jhalli

A mayoral candidate says climate change has been one of the main issues while they have been going door-to-door to speak with Ottawa residents.

Somerset Coun. Catherine McKenney is one of 10 candidates vying to become Ottawa's next mayor.

They told The Rob Snow Show with guest host Derick Fage on Thursday, July 21 there are a few ways that Ottawa can become a healthier city to live in.

“Cooling spaces, misting spaces, we can get people out of cars and on to transit and on to different modes of transportation,” they said. “We can work towards to making all of our buildings more energy efficient but also help people make their homes more efficient.”

The municipal election is on October 24.
