Officials at the Montfort Hospital announced on August 5 that the hospital's emergency department will be closing overnights this weekend due to an "unprecedented shortage" of nurses.
The hospital's emergency department will be closed between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 and the closure will remain in effect until Monday, August 8 at 7:30 a.m.

"The decision to close the emergency department, even for a few hours, is not easy to make, but we have to do it, to ensure our team is able to offer excellent, safe and compassionate care when the emergency department reopens," hospital officials said in a release.
The rest of the hospital is "business is usual".
